PLUSS MEETINGS:

Parent Leaders United for Snohomish Students (PLUSS) in simple terms is like a parent meeting for the whole district.  It is not a PTA, PTO or parent group meeting.  It is a meeting of parents from all of the schools in the district along with district staff.  This is a great place to hear what the district is working on, what the concerns of other parents are or simply what is happening in our district.  Please consider attending one of these meetings if you would like to have first hand knowledge of what is going on around the Snohomish School District.

The first PLUSS meeting will be
October 13th
at the SSD office
1601 Avenue D in Snohomish

KIDMAIL FLYERS:

Weekly on Thursdays your child will bring home important papers in their 'take home' folders. Be sure to check these folders
.

WATCH D.O.G.S. is a one-of-a-kind, school-based father involvement program that works to support education and safety.

Panther Pals 2016

Attention students in grades 4, 5 & 6....Panther Pals is a program that was established more than 20 years ago by Mr. Tuck Gionet. The purpose is to bring Snohomish elementary students together with Snohomish High School students and provide the elementary students with positive role models. High school Panther Pals come from all areas of the educational and co-curricular program. Every effort is made to match up students of similar interests. It is important that the interests portion of the application form be filled out. If you had a Panther Pal previously you may request to have the same pal. In the event that one or the other is not applying to be a Panther Pal you will be matched with a new pal. For more information and to sign up your student go to

http://www.sno.wednet.edu

and under SCHOOLS click on Snohomish High School. Then choose STUDENTS; find the letter 'P' and click on that and open 'PANTHER PALS'

DEADLINE TO APPLY: OCTOBER 12

The sale will only be open for two weeks, so don’t wait! ORDER TODAY!! The deadline to order is Friday, October 14th. This will be the only order for the school year.
Fall Fundraiser Kickoff October 17
Please consider supporting the PTA's fall fundraiser. This year we will be selling the famous Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough and we will also have a magazine filled with wonderful gifts, magazines and other goodies. Every purchase or donation goes towards helping the PTA fund things like assemblies, teacher grants, field trip scholarships, family events and so much more. Many of you may wonder where all the money we raise goes. This is a great question and our financials are an open book. Feel free to mailto:cascadeviewpta@gmail.com

Something new and exciting for this year..for any kid that sells 15 items (or gets a cash donation equivalent), will take part in a pizza party with the Seahawk Mascot- Blitz!! What an awesome prize!!! This is not some cheap toy (oh we know, there are those too), this is something your kids will remember for a lifetime.

In the past, depending on the fundraiser- we have averaged just 30-45% participation. That means for every kid that collects $1 to the kid that sells the most; less than half of our school participates. Can you imagine if we could get 50% or even 75% participation? The things that we could do as a PTA for our school would be amazing. Please consider supporting this fundraiser. The PTA, the staff, and the kids will all thank you.

Kickoff will be Monday October 17th. Packets will go home with students at that time. Orders are due Wednesday October 26th. Items will be delivered after Thanksgiving.
Harvest Carnival October 21st

Our 5th annual Harvest Carnival is October 21st 530-830pm. $10 per kid, $25 per family. Games, Bouncy Houses and Face Paint. Concessions and a bake sale will also be available for purchase.
This is one of our funnest events of the year and both kids and parents love it! We also need many volunteers to make this event a success.

Conference Week Oct 24-28

Conferences are quickly approaching and the Hospitality Team provides meals to certificated staff. We will provide dinner on Monday and Wednesday, and lunch on Thursday - October 24th, 26th and 27th.

The Hospitality Coordinator, Becka Cruze, is looking for someone to take over the role of Coordinator.  This is what Becka has to say, "I would love to train you in what to do and help you this year during the transition. It has also been an AMAZING way to bless our teachers and get to know them better. I love knowing people at the school and this really gave me that opportunity. Please let me know if you would like to know more about this roll or if you want to take it over"

If you are interested in learning more, please contact Becka at   mailto:cascadeviewpta@gmail.com
